Davenport, IA (April 18, 2014) – Jason Fegers of Bloomington, IL took top honors at the Davenport Raceway in Davenport, IA for a Midwestern challenge between the MARS & Corn Belt Clash series. The win was worth $3,500.
Jimmy Mars of Menominie, WI earned the most passing points from the heat races and qualified for the pole by winning the top 6 dash. Mars paced the field and led early but it was third starting Fegers on the move. Fegers worked the narrow track to perfection and was able to make the pass on Mars and hold on for the win.
Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA finished second, Mars wound up third with Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, IA and Jason Utter of Columbus Junction, IA rounding out the top five. Ryan Gustin of Marshalltown, IA finished the race in fifth, but was disqualified in post-race inspection for being 19 pounds lite.
Heat race winners were Brad Looney of Republic, MO; Gustin; Jesse Stovall of Billings, MO; Mars.
B feature winners were Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO and Justin Kay of Wheatland, IA
