Mars to Kick of 2020 Season with Three Race Swing
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Burbank, Illinois (June 17, 2020) - The Mars Racing Series presented by Rip It Energy Fuel is ready to get the 2020 race season underway. A trio of events in Iowa and Illinois will get the action started for the series 21st season.
Racing will kick off with a $5,000 to win event on the quarter-mile at Davenport Speedway in Davenport, Iowa Thursday June 25th. This will be the first time the series has been to Davenport since 2016. On Friday June 26th the series will invade Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa for another $5,000 to win event. June 26th will be the first time in series history it has had an event there. The Mars season opening event was due to take place at Lee County back in March before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the Iowa track.
The finale of the three race weekend will take place on Saturday night at Peoria Speedway in Peoria, Illinois. This as well will be a $5,000 to win event. The series was originally scheduled to compete here back in April before having to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that kept Illinois race tracks closed.
More details to come in the next few days as we pin down the details for each event. The officials with the Mars Racing Series are excited to get the 2020 race season underway after a long spring with no racing.
