October 8, 2022 (Fairbury, IL) The final round of the Mars Racing Series took place at Fairbury Speedway on Saturday night. The pits filled up with 41 cars to cap off Championship Weekend. The event was part of the FALS Frenzy that paid $15,000 to win on night two. Ryan Unzicker carried a 57-point lead into the nights event and only needed to show up to claim the 2022 points title

In Allstar Performance qualifying it was Frank Heckenast Jr who laid down the quickest lap at 12.926 seconds. This set the stage for four heat races to set the field for the 50-lap event.

In Arizona Sport Shirts Heat Race #1 Jason Feger took the win to start on the pole for the nights main event. Dennis Erb Jr, Billy Moyer, and Kevin Weaver were the other transfer cars.

Heat Race #2 presented by Dirt Track Bank went to Marshalltown, IA driver Ryan Gustin. Other drivers picking up transfer spots were Ryan Unzicker, Logan Martin, and Justin Duty.

O'Reily Auto Parts Heat Race #3 went to Tanner English. Mike Harrison, Tyler Bruening, and Kent Robinson all moved on to the main event.

Heat Race #4 presented by Hoosier Tire Midwest went to Bobby Pierce. Brian Shirley, Shannon Babb, and Mike Spatola all transferred to the feature event.

It took a pair of B-Main events to set the final four starting spots. Batesville, AR driver Billy Moyer Jr. and Gordy Gundaker took the top two spots in the first B-Main. Jason Wagner and Trevor Gundaker moved on to the main event. The 21-car starting field was made complete with a series provisional being given to McKay Wenger. Other series regular Bob Gardner was unable to transfer which gave the 2022 Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year title to McKay Wenger

In the 50 lap $15,000 to win event Jason Feger took the lead on lap one and never looked back. In the opening stages it was quite the battle between Bobby Pierce, Tanner English, Dennis Erb Jr and Ryan Gustin. Just past the halfway point Bobby Pierce overtook Jason Feger for the lead. Feger was able to stay with Bobby through the final stages but was not able to get back around Bobby.

Bobby Pierce took the checkers a little over a second in front of Jason Feger. Tanner English rounded out the podium for the second night in a row.  Billy Moyer Jr was the Keyser Manufacturing Hard Charger of the night after improving 7 positions for a top ten finish.

This event closed out the 2022 campaign for the Mars Racing Series. Ryan Unzicker was crowned the 2022 series champion with Jason Feger finishing runner up. McKay Wenger ended up third in the standings and became the Sunoco Race Fuels Rookie of the Year. Bob Gardner finished four in series points. All top four drivers took home part of the over $30,000 dollars in point fund money.
