Illinois Dirt Shootout Presented by Popejoy Incorporated & HOTROD Septic Treatment Canceled for Friday, May 24
FAIRBURY, IL (May 24) Due to early afternoon downpours and projected showers and storms throughout the evening, night #2 of the Illinois Dirt Shootout at Fairbury Speedway has been canceled. Heavy rains have saturated the facility and made it unable to be able to complete tonight’s event as scheduled.
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 25, will be championship night for the inaugural Illinois Dirt Shootout Presented by Popejoy Incorporated & HOTROD Septic Treatment where the MARS Modified Championship Powered by Summit Racing Equipment drivers are set to run 4 C-Main events, 4 B-Main events, and the 60-lap $20,000-to-win / $2,000-to-start feature event.
The top 12 in overall cumulative points from Thursday night’s action are locked into the 60-lap main event and will be a part of the Mullins Race Engines redraw on Saturday evening where they will redraw for their 12 starting positions. The 4 C-Mains and 4 B-Mains will be set from overall cumulative points from Thursday’s event.
The MARS Late Model Championship Powered by FK Rod Ends join the party tomorrow for a full program with hot laps, qualifying, heat races, b-mains, and a $5,000-to-win main event.
If you have purchased a 3-day pit pass or general admission ticket for the weekend, they will be able to be sent into the Fairbury Speedway office by mail for a refund for the rainout portion of the event, beginning next week.
